Channel 2 is the City of Kinston's Government Access Channel and is available on Suddenlink cable television in the Kinston area. Government access television is a resource to municipalities to address local municipal programming needs, often used to broadcast city council meetings, election programming, local emergency announcements and other events and programs as valued by the local government.

Programming consists of the following:
City Council meetings (live) - 1st & 3rd Mondays each month at 7:00pm
City Council worksession (live) - 3rd Monday each month at 5:30pm
Replayed at 10am, 7pm & 12 midnight Wednesday through Saturday each week
Planning & Zoning meetings occur during Council meeting meetings
Announcements of City meetings, events, services, and job opportunities
City closings, delays, and holiday schedules
Safety and crime prevention tips
Recreation and Parks programs
Recycling and sanitation information
Videos with fire safety information
Other special government-related announcements and events
