Permits & Code Enforcement
As of January 17, 2023, the City of Kinston and Lenoir County have merged building permitting and inspections. If you need a new building, mechanical, electrical and/or plumbing permit(s), please contact Lenoir County at 252-559-2260. For site plan review for new development or construction to include additions, change of use, demolition, signs, zoning compliance, zoning permits, and/or ABC license in the city limits of Kinston and it's extra-territorial jurisdiction, contact Planning Department at planning@ci.kinston.nc.us or call 252-939-3271.
