The City of Kinston is a wonderful community that is full of hardworking and caring citizens. I am happy to be a member of this community and to serve the law enforcement needs of the residents and businesses. I have proudly served our community for over twenty-one years as a Kinston Police Officer.
As your Chief of Police, you have my unwavering commitment to leading a team which offers the best possible police services to citizens and visitors in Kinston. Your safety is our primary focus, and we will continue to strive to be responsive to community needs through active listening and collaborative problem solving.
Our policing philosophy focuses heavily upon solving problems in a coordinated effort with our residents. The Police Department serves as the primary enforcement branch to promote safety in the community. This is in coordination with every resident also playing a role in our success. Our goal is to remain a highly respected, professional Police Department that serves as a model agency for Eastern North Carolina.
As I lead your police department forward, you can count on me to continue the philosophy of community problem solving as well as being accessible. We will continue to follow the Kinston Police Department’s mission.

One of my primary goals is to recruit and retain individuals who are enthusiastic about working in the police profession and realize their work has a direct impact on our community.
