The functions of the Environmental Services section include providing professional, reliable and efficient collection, transportation and disposal of residential and commercial garbage, vegetative and nonvegetative trash, white goods, residential recyclable materials, and leaves during leaf season.

Mosquito Control

Environmental Services also provides vector control to minimize the mosquito population in Kinston. Known breeding sites are treated routinely to control the population and our technician sprays neighborhoods for mosquitoes periodically during warm weather months and also applies larvicides in ditches and other areas of standing water where mosquitoes breed.

Customer Service

The Environmental Services section is one of the largest sections in the Public Services Department. Our employees are dedicated to excellent customer service and we proudly serve the citizens of Kinston each day.
