Chief Bo Hobbs began his fire service career with Kenansville Fire Department in March 1985. He retired as their Assistant Chief/Training Officer in 2008 after 23 years of service. Commander Hobbs began employment with Kinston Fire & Rescue in June of 1993. He was promoted to Captain in February 2007 and promoted to Battalion Chief in May 2017. He served as the department's Training/Safety Officer from February 2007 to January 2013. He holds an Associate of Applied Science in Fire Protection Technology through Coastal Carolina Community College. He holds numerous certifications/qualifications. He is an instructor in the areas of Firefighter I/II, Driver/Operator - Pumps, EVD, TIMS, Fire Officer I/II, and Live Burn.

Chief Scrufari has been employed with the city since August 4, 1995 where he worked through the ranks from Firefighter, to Lieutenant, to Captain on the truck, to Captain in training, back to Captain on the truck, and to current Fire Battalion Chief.
Chief Scott Justice began his career with the City of Kinston Department of Fire and Rescue in June 1999. Chief Justice was promoted to Captain in February of 2005 and promoted to Battalion Chief in December of 2015.
He has completed an Associate of Applied Science in Fire Protection Technology through Coastal Carolina Community College, a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration through Mount Olive College, and a Master of Science in Safety, Security and Emergency Management through Eastern Kentucky University. He has completed the Executive Fire Officer Program through the National Fire Academy and the Eastern North Carolina Senior Fire Leadership Institute through Wilson Community College.
Chief Justice holds numerous certifications through the NC Fire Commission including certification as a Fire Officer III. Additionally he has completed numerous specialty programs including the NC High Angle Rescue School, NC Rescue College, NC Breathing Equipment School, and NC Thermal Imaging School.
