Forms, Documents, and Required Operational Permits for Fire Code

The Private Residence Fire Safety Check List are the specific areas of the Safety Check that the Fire Company will be looking at within the Private Residence. Please feel free to print of the Check List for your records.

The Ride-Along Policy and Procedure Form is the information that is needed to understand prior to a citizen interested in participating within the program can request to interact within the program.
The Ride-Along Request Form is an On-Line Fill-able Form. Complete the form and submit and print a copy for your Records.

The Citizen Complaint Process Form is how the Process is to be proceeded if there is a concern that needs to be addressed by the Fire Administration.
The Citizen Complaint Form is an On-Line Fill-able Form. After fully reading and understanding the Citizen Complaint Process, complete the form and submit and print a copy for your records.
To schedule an inspection for your new business or reschedule an inspection please call 252-526-2712 and speak with our Deputy Chief or email a request for scheduling by clicking on the link below.
To schedule an inspection for Group Homes, Daycare Facilities or Foster Homes in accordance with North Carolina State Rules, Regulations and Laws, please call 252-939-3164 and speak with the Administration Assistant to discuss payment so the Fire Code Official can schedule the inspection requested, or email a request for plans of payment and scheduling by clicking on the link below . There are fees associated with each Group Home Inspection, Daycare Inspection, and Foster Care Home Inspection, and they are required to be paid in full prior to the scheduled Inspection so the it can take place.
Payments
Payments can be made by Check, Cashier's/Banker's Check, Money Order or Credit/Debit Card Payment** at the Kinston Department of Fire and Rescue (Headquarters) Station 1, 401 E Vernon Avenue, Kinston, North Carolina 28501,
during business hours, or by mailing or delivering a Check, Cashier's/Banker's Check or Money Order made out to the City of Kinston in care of the Kinston Department of Fire and Rescue at P. O. Drawer 339, Kinston, North Carolina 28502.

Applications
The Kinston Department of Fire and Rescue requires all Mandatory Operational Permits listed below and in the Fire Prevention Code, to be applied for and kept on the premises in accordance with the Fire Prevention Codes. The Applications for the Permits are provided below and can be electronically filled out, Electronically Signed* and submitted into the Fire Code Official for Approval and issuance. There are fees associated with each Mandatory Operational Permit or with Group Home Inspections, Daycare Inspections, and Foster Care Home Inspections, and is required to be paid in full upon receipt of the application and prior to issuance of the Permit being requested.

Payments
UPON PERMIT APPROVAL from the Fire Code Official, the Fire Administration Assistant will make contact with the Applicant to make arrangements of payment and issuance of the Permit.
